The Longchamp Le Pliage Collection
Philippe Cassegrain designed Le Pliage in 1993 after a trip to Japan, borrowing the logic of origami: a featherweight nylon tote with tan leather trim that folds down to the size of a paperback and opens up to carry a day's worth of everything. Three decades later, it's still the bag people ask us for by name.
Choosing your size
The Large (L) is the workhorse, laptops, textbooks, a weekend away. The Medium (M) is the everyday carry, roomy without being oversized. Small (S) and the pouches work as evening and travel bags. Is this a genuine Longchamp bag?
Every Longchamp piece we sell is bought through the brand's own supply chain and ships from our own boutique, which has traded at the same Chappaqua address for over thirty years.
What is the Le Pliage made of?
The Original is heavy nylon with tan grained leather trim. Le Pliage Green is recycled polyamide canvas with the same leather trim, and Le Pliage Xtra is leather throughout.
